OTA’s multi-disciplinary Pediatric Feeding Program offers an intensive, individualized therapy for children with oral sensory and/or medically based feeding disorders including:
- Limited intake
- Failure to thrive
- Sensitivities to taste/texture
- Oral motor and chewing difficulties
- Disruptive meal time behavior
- Difficulties with self-feeding/ utensil use
What services do we provide?
- Evaluation
We evaluate each child’s unique strengths and weaknesses to determine the underlying causes of their feeding difficulties. - Individual Treatment
Within 1:1 therapy sessions, children learn to increase tolerance of taste/texture through sensory play, improve oral-motor skills and discover the “joy of eating”.
- Parent Education
Understand the complexity skills required for feeding including sensory processing, oral motor skills and social interaction. Learn strategies to help make every meal less stressful for the entire family. - Feeding Consultation
Assessment, consultation and training for schools, early childhood centers and community agencies.
